Monthly Club Meetings

The regular club meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. April - October we meet at the Club field. During the winter months the meetings are held at HobbytownUSA. The winter meeting time is also 7:00 PM with food served starting at 6:30.

This is a reminder that SRCC will be conducting a Float Fly this weekend at Lake Monkey Business. The lake is located within the community of Killearn Lakes Plantation. Please read below for special considerations and directions to the event.

First, we will be conducting flights beginning around 9am and running until we tire of the effort. I plan to get there between 8am and 8:30am to open the gates and do some basic site setup.

We plan to fly from the dock on the west end of the island. There is sufficient room for three pilots at a time, although I leave that to the safety folks to sort out the safest limit.

The driving directions are squirrely in this area, so you may want to use Google to create a map of directions from your origination and print that out or use a GPS. I'll try to construct an SRCC arrow sign to point you in the right direction at the two most difficult spots.

There is room on the peninsula to park some cars. If the area becomes overcrowded, we should begin parking in the parking lot -- I don't think this will happen unless we have more than 15 cars or so arrive.
